Detailed Description
#ilovehawes - STRAVA Virtual- XC "Short Course" EVENT- Fundraiser is a 15 mile intermediate race route located near Mesa Arizona. This mountain bike only route can be used one direction and has a moderate overall physical rating. This route includes 7 trails. This route climbs 1,298 ft with a max elevation of 1,868 ft then descends -1,296 ft.

Trail Scorpion
Scorpion has recently been worked over. Better than new as most of the numerous turns have added banking. It has been smoothed and flows fast. All damage from recent rains and summer monsoon have been repaired. Its a fun downhill green for 2 miles.

Trail Jumping Jacks Cut
Fabulous fast rapid descent with lots of opportunities for little jumps... not technical at all! Great short, fast, reward for the climb. Watch out for the occasional biker riding uphill from N to S.

Trail High Noon
West to East: punchy ups and downs as you climb. A few of those ups are a bit technical but not too hard.
East to West: a slower than expected descent due to many off camber turns where your front tire easily desires to slide out! Keep your front tire properly weighted and pick a good line to increase the flow factor!

Not sure what Spanky54 is referring to. High Noon is very sustainable, lots of grade reversals, no ruts, no erosion, holding up very well over the last few years. Maybe he’s talking about the trail above it that was decommissioned by Tonto NF.

Trail High Noon
Great mountain bike trail! Best ridden east to west as a loop from Hawes/Wild Horse Trail. Needs some grade reversals and outsloping to be sustainalbe. Hopefully USFS will have a competent trail crew or a voluteer group work on this trail tread and make it more sustainable. Would love to help?

Rode this today. Didn't see the turn off to stay on Wild Horse Trail. A little more than I like to tackle but we made it through. Will pay better attention to GPS and trail.

Fun little section, but this is easily a green trail. There are a couple berms and some good areas to pump and gain speed but it is still a green trail.

I believe this trail’s actual name is “High Horse Trail”. Best ridden west to east in combination with an out and back on “Wild Horse Trail”

I must have had a dyslexic moment when I reported that it is best ridden west to east as I meant the opposite. There is a 200+ ft elevation loss going in the east to west direction. It's always more fun when your fueled by gravity.
