We're going to leave the village passing by the El Mirador hotel, together with the road driving to Almería.
We'll pedal on the road only for 850 metres, to take a tangent at the right using a ground path which crosses the Sierra de Gádor, in this case from North to South.
This first metres of ascent are very steep, at the middle of the ascent soften a little, and finally get steep again.
Once we reach the top, scenery change radically and become more desert-like. 20 kilometres of slope downward are liyng ahead of us by a trail to Félix before facing up a new ascent, this time by road, to Énix.

Instinción - Enix is a 26 mile less popular intermediate route located near Almería. This mountain bike only route can be used both directions and has a moderate overall physical rating. This route climbs 3,719 ft with a max elevation of 4,758 ft then descends -2,708 ft.
