High Point

This loop begins at the parking area above Empire Logde on Mid Mountain trail. Empire Link provides connectivity between the Mid Mountain Trail and Ontario Ridge. The trail begins with a fun descent through a forest of aspen and pine. Once you pop out of the trees, the trail dives down the hillside through a series of switchbacks. The trail contours around the hillside to climb back up TDS Ontario By-pass.

This is a fun downhill. The trail isn't as worn as Mid Mountain, but the rocks and roots aren't too much of a challenge. The uphill return is relatively easy technically and endurance-wise, especially if you skip the Tour de Suds loop at the end, then most of the return is on the Mid Mountain trail.
