A great way to experience all Juniper ridge has to offer. Awesome views, strawberries, huckleberries. But also deep dusty moto ruts and a duo of outstanding descents: Juniper peak and Tongue mountain. You can shuttle the lower part but it's also a pleasant warm up before the rather harsh Dark Meadow climb. An easier option is to start at Sunrise peak but that road is apparently washed out and cannot be shuttled. You could also start at Council lake but that part of the ridge is not nearly as interesting or fun to ride.

      Tongue Mountain Trail #294

On May 14th, 2020 I 'rode' the Tongue mountain trail down from the junction with High Bridge trail. Perfect dirt although a lot of winter debris remains. I cleared as much as I could without running out of light. Unfortunately one got me right at the beginning of the descent ripping out half of my spokes and broke my deraileur in three pieces. End of that brand new wheel/deraileur!!!

Fantastic. Wet and tacky. Some muddy sections but not bad at all. The moto berms are ridiculous fun. The rut does need some knocking down, but that would require a pretty extensive trail crew to get it done. reporter
