Big views, big climbs and an extended 14 km single-track (almost) continuous descent from the high point, all on intermediate single track trails describes the“Killer King” route. The Killer King is 54 km with 50km of singletrack incorporating the newest and older classic trails (24 in total) in this area with over 1800 metres of climbing (the high point is at 1454m up on the King Eddy Plateau above Vernon). It is "blue" for individual trail difficulty but "black" for overall effort required.

Note regarding distance, especially for trail runners. The actual distance is 54km and not 48.6 km as shown on Trailforks. The 54 km was measured by a calibrated, wheel mounted odometer which is the most accurate way to measure a trail and was measured twice to confirm accuracy.

This route should not be taken lightly. It will take 6-8 hours depending on fitness. Be prepared and take as much water and nutrition as you can carry, you will need it. Or you can drop a replenishment on the Plateau or have someone do it for you as there are many good places to do so.

Also be aware that there are sections of the route where there is no cell phone coverage (not many but some).

Rode a week ago so report actually from Nov 25. Must've come across 6-8 trees down from the parking lot through Stone Free/Upper/Pali until Be Kind. Made the climb very frustrating but otherwise enjoyable. Some snow in the more open sections but overall conditions were good and climbed very well even in the -3°C cold.
