Mainly hardpack conditions with a light dusting of fresh snow. Good traction along the whole trail with a few slick off-camber sections and corners. Recommend studded tires but would be rideable without.

A light covering of snow over the typical hardpack snow base. Many sections of snow-over-dirt. Good traction for the majority of the climb with only a few sections being made easier with studs. Overall, great shape considering the recent freeze/thaw cycles.
Ranger Summit

Ice from bottom to top. A few sections were too slick and steep to maintain traction. Studded tires are strongly recommended.

The chinook turned the snow into slush, glare ice and glazed hardpack. There were some ruts/puddles forming, which will be really interesting when it freezes up. Studded tires would be a really good idea.
