The Mag 5 ride is an awesome shuttle. The terrain is fairly intermediate and not super steep either. Expect a long ride that is almost all slightly downhill with the exception near the end of the ride of a short, challenging pedal through a sandy wash and a relatively long climb (4km or so) out on the Gemini Bridges jeep road at the end of the ride to get out to Highway 191.

The typical route has riders descending down into the sandy gulch at the bottom of of the Little Canyon (Mag 5) trail and then climbing out via the Gold Bar Rim and Gemini Bridges jeep roads back to the parking area on the 191 Highway. From here you can either drive (if you left a retrieval car) or ride back into town on the road or bike trail (mostly downhill and flat back into town).

Key trails are: Getaway Start --> Bull Run --> Great Escape --> Little Bridges --> Gold Bar Rim jeep road (Through the challenging sandy wash) --> this final bit is a 7.5 km pedal (about 4km of which is climbing) out on Gemini Bridges Jeep road back down to Highway 191.

Mag 7 ride has you ride down Portal or Poison Spider.

Super fun and flowy, snaking down a ridge on mostly rock with a little dirt. If you're a relative n00b, this is doable, keep the speed and roll it baby.

Trail Great Escape
I'm not an expert at the MTB, but this is one of the most fun trails out there. Rip it.

If you're dropping to this after Mag 7 - know that it's a hard ride. At the bottom of Mag 7, it's sandy, and you climb a monster ridge to get out to the bike path. Beautiful though.

Trail Bull Run
Totally awesome trail - I'm a roadie and I hit this my 4th day in Moab and it was great for skill progression. Awesome views, tons of fun.

The entire Getaway trail system in Mag-7 area is a blast. Getaway Top is super fun and flowy and then graduates into a bit more rocky as you transition into the Upper Getaway section. Still really fun and has some flowy sections as well but you can really hammer down on the upper top section. The entire Getaway Trail (top down to lower) is a great for beginners as well. I took my 9 year old son and one daughter who is not super experienced and they had a blast. You can take it at your own speed and be as careful or as rambunctious as you want to! Definitely a “must do“ trail here in the lab.

Found a pair of glasses yesterday from a group right ahead of me. If you can describe your group and glasses I'll send them your way. Send me a DM.

Trail Bull Run
Lots of fun! Super rocky of course but nothing so technical that you can't roll down it. Rode it on a hard tail and it was fine. Combined this with great escape and then back up little canyon to getaway. A very physically demanding route, especially on a hard tail.

This is badly named; it only includes *two* of the "Magnificent 7" trails (Bull Run, and some of Little Canyon). But, yes, good ride (and there are commercial shuttles available to the starting point from town).

This is the best way to ride UP if you come down Great Escape and are doing a loop. Don’t do it the other way around unless you like to suffer.

Trail Great Escape
I did Bull Run plus Great Escape and then ride back up Getaway, etc. A fun 20 mile loop with no shuttle required.

If you are riding back up to the top please ride up getaway not the road. The road has many people driving fast, very dusty, completely boring, I don’t know why I see people riding up it so often when getaway is a brilliant up hill ride.

Getaway is my favorite trail in Moab to bring beginner through intermediate riders. I’ve had kids as young as 8 all the up to my 70yo father on it many times done as a shuttle for those that are not strong enough to ride back up. It offers a perfect mix of flow and technical riding to offer beginners a challenge yet an advance rider has plenty of fun by picking up the pace. At the end a short ride up to Gemini Bridges is the icing on the cake.

Trail Bull Run
This has to be one of the best trails in Moab. Slightly techy and flowing. Some of the best that Moab has to offer. Not really for a beginner. I’d rather ride this than Porcupine. Just ride it and hitch a ride back and hook them up with a couple bucks. There are always people driving Gemini Bridges Road back.

Fun downhill avoid driving up Gemini bridges it is rough better to get dropped at the top and ride down with connecting trails all the way to lower gym now bridges then back home on bike path and sidewinder home to Moab

Fun downhill but don’t bother trying to shuttle up Gemini bridges better to get dropped at the top run down connect to the trails right out on lower gym no bridges take the bike path and sidewinder home to Moab

Another option, if you don't want to shuttle:

Mag 4: Park on GBR, at start of Arth's Corner, ride Arth's, Little Cyn, Goldbar, and Gold Bar Jeep Rd to the Rim. Return via same, or take Great Escape instead of Arth's and LC. About 16 miles.

Mag 5: Adding on Bull Run to the above, which also adds on a climb up Getaway on the beginning or end, unless you shuttle. If that's not enough, ride along the rim and back on Golden Spike and Blue Dot. Most people head for the Portal, but descending Goldbar and the GB Jeep route is fun, too, and eliminates the 90 minutes of driving for the shuttling.

Some tricky steps going down, I endo'd and banged my knee good. Commit and go hard.

I took Great Escape going back the other direction, and I didn't really think it was better than Arth's/LC, just different. Great Escape might be better going outbound.

Trail Great Escape
Took this as part of Mag 7. Nice EASY trail that even hits some plains and grass sections. Not for those that want some more challenge. Take Bull run instead and have more fun.
