Start at Tennessee Valley parking lot. On weekends the parking lot is usually full so either park down the road from the trailhead or just ride in from town. Bathrooms are available at the beginning of the ride.

Take the trailhead to the left (head south) of the horse stables to access Marincello Trail. Get ready to climb up a moderate grade for about 1.5 miles. Stay to your left when you get to the top of the climb and hookup with Bobcat Trail, which is over 2 miles of descending on a fast fire road. Be mindful of the 15 mph park speed limit and watch out for hikers or horses - suggest you slow down to walking pace around them.

At the bottom of Bobcat you can turn left and ride the road to Rodeo beach (not on this route) but a fun excursion on the road. If you don't wander to the beach, make a right and climb up Miwok Trail which is well signed. Miwok. The climb on Miwok averages a 12% and has a couple of challenging sections that get to 14%. The trail can be a bit bumpy or rutted but nothing too challenging.

At the top of the climb, you make a left and jump on Old Spring Road. It is legal singletrack and a blast. At the bottom of Old Springs, you end up at the horse stables so please walk your bike near the stables and then after about another 100 yards you end up at the trailhead you started from. This loop is suitable for strong beginner or any intermediate ride, but there are a couple of sections on Old Springs and Miwok that they may need to walk if they are not confident in their bike handling skills

Great views of the Pacific ocean from Bobcat & Miwok trails. In Summer months you may ride up into the fog and recommend bringing sleeves since the temperature can drop as you climb in altitude. The trail is a fire road .
