Microclimate achieved notoriety when it was featured in the World Enduro Series event in Whistler back in 2014, the trail, built through a beautiful mature forest, is steep, rough and awesome. The climb up is quite challenging on steep gravel access roads on Blackcomb mountain, in the summer heat it can be a killer. A variation or a great second lap (with slightly less climbing) is to ride Hey Bud, which has recently been re-worked and is arguably slightly easier than Microclimate if you follow the new routing.

Dry dirt on most of the trail bar one very wet patch with a bit of a stream running through it. Pretty rough in general but that's all fun and games. Main issue is there are quite a few trees down, all in the upper half of the trail. Biggest and lowest one is where the bridge and old double over the creek is. Photos attached.

CLOSURE in effect. MC is highly susceptible to early season melt and seepage and requires time to dry out before being opened for the season. Please respect this closure to help protect the trail. reporter
