↠ Course description
This is a Mountain Bike race south of Bozeman, Montana. The race starts and finishes at the east end of the Hyalite Reservoir dam (racer parking is at the Blackmore parking lot only). There will be a long race (40+ miles) and a shorter race (approx. 20 miles). Both start at the dam and head north to the Moser area and, for the long course, all the way down to the bottom of Leverich and back. This race is a combination of single-track, double track and roads, with many fun single track sections, lots of ups and downs and loops, and spectacular views. Elevation gain for the long course is approximately 7,000 feet. Detailed maps will be available soon. (Draft Course Map)
↠ What's the race called?!
One of the trails on the course is called Shake n' Bake, from the movie Talladega Nights If you don't know where the Shake n' Bake trail is, it's just past the Unicorn Breeding Grounds. Come and find out!
↠ Racer categories
There are 6 divisions: Men Open (18 years +), Women Open (18+), Men Masters (40+), Women Masters (40+), Junior Boys (17 & younger), Junior Girls (17 & younger). And, there are two distances (40+ miles, and approx. 20 miles).
Junior racers may race the long course only if accompanied by an adult.

↠ Aid stations
There will be three aid stations along the route with food, water and unicorn treats.
↠ Directions
From Bozeman, head south on 19th avenue. When you hit the foothills, 19th will bend to the west for about a mile. Turn left on Hyalite Canyon Road. Take this road straight up in the direction of Hyalite Reservoir. Just before the reservoir turn right into the Blackmore Parking Lot. Park there and ride up the paved road until you get to the start/finish area, which is on the east end of the dam.

↠ Parking
Riders are asked to park only in the Blackmore Parking Lot, which is on the right hand side about 1/2 miles before you reach the reservoir. There will be signs directing you to park there. Riders will ride a short section of pavement up to the east end of the dam on the Hyalite Reservoir. The race will start and end there, and it is also where the festivities will take place. We'll have food, beer and other refreshments after the race.

Race packet pickup is the afternoon of July 19 at Owenhouse Bike Shop, downtown (25 S Black Ave, Bozeman, MT 59715).
