The preferred way to ride Mr Toad's is with a shuttle. Get dropped off at the rim trail on CA-89. Then ride the rim trail over to Mr Toad's and then down. Another alternative, which is less rocky, is to continue on the rim trail to Armstrong Pass and then go down which connects to Armstrong Trail, Corral Trail and others.

Great ride. Mileage for the climb is way off in the topo. It's correct if you look at the Saxon version of this trail. From the top you hit the most technical portion pretty much right away with a couple sections you may have to walk. It's short lived though, the rest of the trail is super flowey (if that's how you spell that).
