The mountainbike tour leads from Dobbiaco/Toblach in northern direction, passing San Silvestro/Wahlen, straight ahead to the Valle San Silvestro/Silvestertal. From there the trail leads in the middle of the forest to the Malga San Silvestro/Silvesteralm. It continues on the right side behind the hut until the "Silvesterplatzl. On the left side an old military road leads in bends up to the Strickberg and further on to the Cornetto di Confine/Marchkinkele. Stunning views to the natur park Tre Cime and the austrian mountains behind the boarder.
From there, the tour follows the hiking path number 1 (attention to share the trail with hikers, no officially signed mountainbike trail). First 400 meter beautyful natural trail until reaching a steaper area with some switchbacks and technically more difficult sections. After passing the small Silvester river some more switchbacks before the road gets wider and the last 300 meter until the Malga Steinberg Alm hut on the wide fire road with lots of small and some bigger stones (pay attention and drive slowly). From Malga Steinberg Alm choose the road on the left side with grass to reach the Malga San Silvestro/Silvesteralm. From here on follow the wide fire road in direction San Silvestro/Wahlen and Dobbiaco/Toblach. Pay attention when driving down us on this part of the route You'll meet a lot of hikers and families up- and downhill. Do never forget that hikers do have right of way and take care and distance when passing them.
