Use the Ellensburg Blue Loop as a 2 mile warm up from the parking lot, then head up the ridge on the Naneum Ridge Connector Trail. Goes as far as you feel like, but currently the recently built Naneum Connector trail ends at about the 3.5 mile mark as of spring 2020. Double back on the Connector Trail and head back to the parking lot for a total of around 9 miles. You can also climb Tyee Rd and the Green Dot Spur if you would rather climb on dirt road.

To get to the lower parking lot, take Cooke Canyon Rd to the T with Coleman Canyon, take a right and follow the road for several miles until it turns to gravel. In another 1.5 miles, take a left under the powerlines, and head up the hill on unmarked Green Dot Rd (Tyee Rd). At .8 miles continue straight on a side road to the parking lot.

Snow free and cleared of trees and large debris until you crest the top of the ridge between 4700-4800ft. Still significant snow patches on top alternating with some areas too soft to ride. A great spot to enjoy the views and descend back down the ridge. reporter

Beautiful ride up CCC1 and 2, then freelancing on the various side trails on the way down like kittitas cadillac and second ride. meadow at the top of CCC2 is dry (except for the cow pie I hit.). And came up on a group of cows on the way down who pretty much insisted on staying on the trail. Part of the 2024 #EvergreenDirtyDozen. Gotta catch em all.

Cow pies all over trail some fresh some dry. Cows blocking part of trail and wouldn’t move. Cow traffic very high and has ruined this trail. Skip trail reporter
