NMBA Beginner ride picnic loop from the pavilions at Alan Seeger - 15 miles. This will take 2 - 2.5 hrs at beginner pace

This is a easy non technical beginner loop that has a little over 600' of elevation gain across the 7 miles, consider Laurel Run Rd from Galbraith Gap has close to 800' in 3 miles, this is arguably easier. There is really only one small short rock garden to negaotiate twice near where Chestnut Springs - Upper connect to Coopers Gap Rd.

From the pavilion head left towards Alan Seeger Rd approx. 1/3 mile, keep left for 2 miles on Alan Seeger Rd, make a right onto Coopers Gap Rd with a 1.3 mile gradual climb to Dutch Alvin. Left on to and up Dutch Alvin. This then intersects Chestnut Springs and continue on Chestnut Springs - Upper out to Coopers Gap Rd. Go right along Coopers Gap Rd for 1.5 miles to the intersection with Kettle Rd and turn in left to connect to Chicken Peter. Bear left on Chicken Peter and follow this out back to Coopers Gap Rd. Turn right off Coopers Gap Rd after 0.6 miles back on to Chestnut Springs - Upper and reverse your earlier track back to the car
