This ride is the burly, backcountry loop with a short road connection to start. The O'Leary Trail Loop serves up endless backcountry adventure with narrow trail hurtling into tight switchbacks, rock walls built decades ago by the Civilian Conservation Corps, throttling climbs, and a final descent that makes you forget the pain.

This must be one of best epic-adventure rides in the US. Def my fave so far... Check out Horse Creek Lodge for lodging & shuttles, and the nearby McKenzie General Store for great food & beer!

Overhanging tree that was passable at speed is no longer. Its roots broke free and it slid down and is a good way to clothesline your self for those that shuttle. It's about 2miles down from 480 road. 1.5 miles up from trail head

Rode this as part of the big epic loop (Olallie-O'leary-Castle Rock About 35 miles) in September 2018. Holy cow! Amazing once you add in Olallie as an out and back. For strong riders with a good attitude, there is no need to shuttle this ride. As with many ridgetop trails, O'Leary has many short steep ups and downs. Still rad. Fall colors were off the charts in late September.
