This is Trans Cascadia Excursions Shuttle Route for the Alpine Trail. The shuttle drop point is at Kate's Cut in, which is the highest elevation drop point to get into the Alpine trail. From the drop point riders have a short climb to the high point of the Alpine trail at Sourgrass Meadow. From here, your descent starts, but by no means are you done climbing for the day. Alpine trail follows the ridgeline undulating up and down. In total you have 5 big memorable descents over the 13 mile ride, and a bunch of punchy little climbs and descents to fill the day. There are several road crossings on your journey, most self explanatory, two worth noting. The first is the Tire Mountain Junction. You'll want to stay left at this point to avoid a loop referred to as ATCA. The last memorable junction is near the very end, it's a sharp left that will take you back down to the red covered bridge. If you somehow blow this corner and find yourself at the old Alpine TH, just follow the road downhill which will take you over the train tracks and into a small neighborhood in Westfir and either tap someone on the shoulder and ask them for directions, or pull of your trail forks app for a little bit of help
