Bike on the fell highlands and enjoy the scenery all the way to the Pallastunturi Fells. Experience the most scenic mountain biking trail in the national park!

The scenic mountain biking trail starts at the Hietäjärvi Lake parking area and continues towards the fell highlands. The first section is a wide sandy path through a pine heath. After Hietäjärvi Lake, you start climbing towards the tree line, and the riding gets tougher as the trail steepens near the end. Following the ascent, the trail alternates between flat and rocky terrain.

You arrive at the open fells quite suddenly, and the landscape awaiting you in Seiponen is worth a short break. The gentle climb continues up the slope of Pippokero Fell, which is followed by a long, fast descent and the last longer climb.

Rouvivaara Hill provides a memorable view of the rolling landscape all the way to Pallastunturi Fell. Let your mind relax as you gaze at the quiet, untouched fell highlands.

A gentle descent and some duckboards brings you to Pahakuru open wilderness hut. This beautifully weathered hut provides shelter for hikers and a great place for a break before the last section of the trail.

Once you get back to the forest, you can walk barefoot on the soft sand near the shore of Hietajärvi Lake and roast a snack over a campfire at the Lapp hut.

Companies that rent mountain bikes include Hetta Huskies, Lapland Safaris Hetta and Lapland Safaris Pallas.

Most beautiful trail in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Varied difficulty: easy start, proper climbs, rocks, fast downhills. Highly recommended!
