Pikes Peak Toll Road: Be prepared to pay 15.00 per person at toll road gate.

This very entertaining high elevation ride, starting above tree line and descending roughly 7000' through beautiful singletrack crossing the east slopes of Pikes Peak. You will climb close to 2000' over the 25 miles, but physically it feels like much less. Plus the ride gets better and better the further you go

The first half of the ride will be slower as you navigate the technical Elk Park Trail and its abundant rock features. Eventually it intersects the Barr Trail. Continue downhill past Barr Camp, enjoy some high speed playful terrain, but keep a eye out for a sharp right hand turn onto the Lake Moraine trail. The rides only major climb starts about a mile into the Lake Moraine trail. Its a great climb although you will be tempted by the idea of riding it in the opposite direction as it would be a great downhill - bonus lap.

After Lake Moraine the trail surface is dominated by decomposed granite and can be very loose, for the best riding conditions get after this ride after a good rain.

The next section New Jones Park to Kineo Mountain Trail offers many miles of high speed flow as you work you way to an exposed ridgeline finish along Kineo Mtn.

Now for one of the rides highlights Captain Jacks trail!! What a unique trail, from jumps to berms to high walled "tubes", Jack's will put a smile on anyone's face! After Jacks you get a short recovery as you roll down the Gold Camp Road before hopping back on singletrack. The final section of the ride is yet another memorable one as you carve and jump your way down The Chutes trail.

After chutes take Ponderosa trail to Ridge trail ending at the Stratton Lower parking lot.

Trail The Chutes
One of my favorite downhills on the front range. Totally a blue - this doesn't qualify as a black by any stretch of my imagination.

Trail The Chutes
Great, fun downhill only trail. Definitely a blue not a black- everything is easily rolled and rocks are minimal.

6" of kitty litter blown out by dirt bikes, too sketchy to be enjoyable

Trail Ridge (SOS)
Easy gradual green with a few optional rocks and mild steepness...built surprisingly well for downhill flow but lots of hikers...

This is really more of a Blue Black due to the occasional and usually optional black sections and steepness and ridiculous looseness. There are a lot of fun parts of this Trail but I'm not sure I'll ever ride it again.. someone needs to take a freaking broom to this Trail!! It's not just lose, it's like kitty litter gravel for half the trail and it makes going fast almost essential which can be fun but is often too sketchy to be enjoyable. I guess for some reason people should be careful of the very last stretch at the bottom... It's not steep at all but there is a loose wash out section that is made me crash in the same damn spot the two times I've tried this Trail I only realized it when I was done with it... this Trail is best enjoyed after moisture.

Do not climb this. It is open to moto therefore blown out with ruts and deep kitty litter in a lot of places. Far from pristine mtb trail. Hard to find traction. Sad sad to see it torn up. Might b fine downhill.
Lots of trails nearby either ruined by moto or hikers.

Rode yesterday. Poor/loose trail conditions due to excessive motorcycle use compared to just 6 months ago. Great MTB trail/flow when in good condition, but not now. Used to be one of my favorite trails in the Springs.

Trail Lake Moraine
I rode it late August 2017. The trail is clearly marked but it is not finished being cut. It makes for an epic #shuttle connecting Deer Park and Jones Park trails.
