This is a commonly ridden loop. Park near the White River Trail. Then ride the loop counterclockwise: White River Trail, up Ranger Creek, down Palisades, and back on White River Trail.

Downed tree and one heavily blown out/landslide of a corner. Aside from that, the entire loop is running perfectly. No snow in sight.

Ranger Creek

Rode FS 7174 up to Noble Knob on 5/2/18. Crossed several downed trees and small snow drifts on Noble but once turned to start down Dalles Ridge to Ranger Creek, substantial snow drifts hike-a-bike to follow the trail and eventually got totally buried. Snow bike hiking on a steep traverse for about a mile. Once finally out of the snow, dozens of fallen burnt trees from last year's fire. Trail badly damaged and eroded in many places also due to the fire and its after effects. Last 3 miles of Ranger was dry and clear in need of little maintenance. The bottom section here is nice but no telling how long it will be before the 7174 - Noble - Dalles - Ranger loop will be rideable again. All and all, still had an awesome day!
Palisades

Because of 2017 fire, the upper ridge of Palisades is covered with 30 or so downed trees, undercut eroded trail, and because of the debris, minor route-finding trouble. BUT, this is only the first 1/2 mile or so -- and after the first viewpoint(Little Ranger Peak on the Trailforks map) the trail is in great shape. The fire only affected the upper ridge the rest of the trail is awesome.
