Recent Trail Reports Along Route

Lower Tyaughton Creek Trail - Castle Junction to Paradise FSR
Oct 4, 2021 @ 9:26pm
Oct 4, 2021
Blowdown from Septembers storms cleared from trail head (TH) to Castle Pass intersection Oct.1 & 2. Remaining alder & brush cleared from old switchback skid road climb from TH to park boundary Oct. 3. There are still at least half dozen dead beetle kill leaning trees so they will likely come down this winter. Steeper, direct horse route is clear but has leaning trees that will probably come down this winter. Carry a folding saw, you will need it.

Tricky route-finding at the top/no real trail or cairns to follow until you start going up again.
Little Paradise Creek Trail
Jul 26, 2021 @ 8:40pm
Jul 26, 2021
A number of trees down on climb from cabin. Once up the climb and into the valley the trail is extremely overgrown. Trail becomes easy to navigate again at Graveyard Valley junction up to Manson Ck col (thanks Tyax staff from 2020).
Castle Pass Trail
Jul 18, 2021 @ 10:29am
Jul 18, 2021
As of July 15 trail is overall good condition. Use caution on the off camber decent from Castle Pass to Fortress Meadows. Trail tread very soft. About 3-4 trees down thru Fortress Meadows area, can walk or ride around. And a few trees down just when exiting the last big meadow below Fortress, have been limbed but requires a dismount from bike. Trail generally is dry with only a few muddy spots.
