Check in at Panther Junction. Secure personal items when not at the campsite. Both packrats and human rats will steal from you, given the opportunity.

This is the full 52.1 mile River Road route. The midpoint of this trail connects to the Black Gap Road at one of the loneliest places on the planet. The Chisos Mountains are to your north, the Del Carmen Mountains in Mexico are to your east, Sierra Ponce in Mexico is to your west, and Mariscal Mountain looms to the south. Be prepared with lots of water and a repair kit suitable for all of the tire-pokers the desert will throw at you. Remember, everything in the desert either sticks, stings, or stinks.

Back Country permit required -- acquire permit at Panther Junction Ranger Station. You'll need to set up a shuttle for this ride. Call Desert Sports for shuttles.
