This is a great loop that gets you all the goods Sawtooth ridge has to offer. Starting off at the Thelin Road trailhead ride the lower section of Sawtooth to upper Sawtooth. Then cross Sawtooth Road to Sawtooth Martis Creek. About 2/3rds of the way down Sawtooth Martis Creek trail turn right on "East Moto Trail. This is a multi use trail that does allow motorized traffic so be alert. Ride about 500 feet down the moto trail and Two Beavers and a Bear Trail will be on the right. Follow that two the 2 Bridges connector to 2 Bridges. That will connect back into Two Beavers and a Bear. Once you hit the moto trail again turn right, and then take another right back onto Martis Meadow. You will then hit Powerline all the way to the Happy Face Connector. Then turn right onto the Happy Face climb to the Happy Face Downhill. That brings you right back to the Thelin Road trailhead where you started.

This is a nice ride with short punchy climbs, lots of fun chunky bits, and great views. Well suited for newer riders wanting to try something a bit technical.

Detailed Description

Sawtooth, a bear, two beavers, two bridges, and a happy face is a 13 mile popular intermediate route located near Truckee California. This mountain bike primary route and has a moderate overall physical rating. This route includes 11 trails. This route climbs 1,190 ft with a max elevation of 6,758 ft then descends -1,188 ft.
