How to find it
The trail starts from the top of Lactic Ridge, which is accessed from the top of Mushroom Head on Fernie Mountain. It ends at the top of Hedonism on the Powerline.

From the top of Lactic Ridge head up slightly and to your left and you will find the beginning of the traverse over to the beginning of the S Bomb where you will find a sign. Alternatively, head up the Moccasin Road. To find the Moccasin, head up Burma Road from West Fernie, past the Bighorn helipad on your right, and just after the helipad, turn left onto a jeep road closed off with concrete blocks. Head up here around 800m by which time the powerline cables should be over your head and you will see a steep rocky track heading up, with the powerline road continuing off to your left. Jump off your bike, unless you're Superman, and push up this short section and then carry on up and up and up. This is a tough, tough climb of 500m vertical over 3km. When you get to around 1550m of elevation the road swtiches sharp right, there is some cable on the ground, and you want to head straight and round to the left onto a singletrack trail. This awesome trail then snakes South along the front of Mount Fernie, over the top of Lactic Ridge and on towards S Bomb.

The trail
This trail is probably the longest, flowiest, fastest and most buffed bermerific trail that this valley has ever seen.

S Bomb itself is a great ride - swooping through the forest with tight turns and fun berms and buffed to near perfection. You have two options flying down here - keep flying and kick out onto the Powerline and then head down Hedonism, or else around three-quarters of the way down keep your eyes to the right for a big wooden sign announcing the start of Brokeback and head onto this, which will drop you onto the Island lake Road.
