From Poschiavo on a paved road to Cologna and then evenly but long climbing up the hill, soon on a forest road. Second ascent then at Gugliel along the road up to Alp. Finally on a nice single trail through the forest, slightly ascending to San Romerio. Beautiful forest and sometimes great views.
From San Romerio not very imaginative to Viano. There again slightly ascending to Palü (unfortunately tarred), but from the border then adventurous, bumpy smuggler path via Roncaiola steeply down to Tirano.

Return journey after a fine dinner in Tirano then enjoy with the RhB (Pizzeria vis a vis Madonna di Tirano highly recommended).
