The Snowbasin Ridge Traverse takes you up the Southside of the gorgeous ski resort of Snowbasin Utah, across the ridge overlooking the Great Salt Lake and Ogden to the West and Ogden Valley to the East.

Beginning at the Green Pond Trailhead, and ending at Snowbasin resort parking will leave you at 16 miles. Or, keep going on the road and exit out of Wheeler Canyon and take a little dip in Pineview Reservoir. Adjacent to a little brook, my favorite stretch of singletrack was found in that quaint little canyon.

The views are virtually panoramic as the ridge drops off sharply to the valley floor thousands of feet below to your left and right.

Make sure to keep your eyes on the trail though as it is scrambly at spots!

I meandered my way up the ski resort to the southern boundary and made sure to tag the Southernmost Peak, Strawberry Peak, before traveling Northward to Allen Peak.

You tag two other peaks along the way, De Moisy Peak and Mount Ogden. If you have enough time, go past the resort boundaries and hit Sardine Peak, it's gorgeous! I missed it this time but it's a must if you can.

It's easy to link up the beginning and end with a bicycle cycling up State Road 167. Or you can shuttle it as well.

WARNING- It was very hot and I borderline bonked on about 4-5 liters of water over about 5 hrs 44 minutes. (Another hr w/ 1 liter of water for the cycling portion).

Have fun!

Super fun trail when it isn't busy - Super unsafe when it is. Today, it was busy... Footage still made a good short.
