This route can be ridden in both summer and winter. But be warned, Wapiti is one of the least packed winter trails and conditions are rarely good enough for fatbikes.

You'll start this ride at Peaceful Valley/Camp Dick. This ride is challenging for it's rockiness and climbing at nearly 10,000'.

Hop on the Buchanan trail until you hit Sourdough - North. Turn left on Sourdough and keep left at the Cut-off intersection. You'll cross Beaver Res Road and Sourdough continues south. Keep on keeping on. Pass the first Wapiti intersection (this is where you will come out on the way back). Enjoy the view at the dry pond, then look for the second Wapiti intersection to your right. Just a short climb, and then it's almost all down hill back to your car.
