High Point

A modified version of this loop is done with a shuttle vehicle. Shortly after East Heise Road intersects with 217 there is a Forest Service bulletin board across the road from an open field. Park in the open field and start up 217. Once on 217 you can take Hawley's Gulch as a cut-off, or you can continue on to Y-Junction. At the Y, turn right and follow 218 to the top of Hawley's (you can alternatively use Glen's Grunt as a method to reach the top of Hawley's). The trail then consists of mostly downhill with the exception of one long climb.
