High Point

Credit to Tom Purvis for suggesting this on mtbr a few years ago.

The singletrack to road ratio on this ride at first glance doesn't look worthy, but in reality, the primitive nature of the roads and historic view and mining relics make it very worthwhile. Plus, the singletrack on the CDT is top notch!

Another alternative is to go over Williams Pass, then climb back to the Alpine Tunnel from the other side. That has the advantage of going through the historic relics on the West side of the Tunnel, and getting to see the done by hand rock walls of the Palisades.
