This is a shared cycle and walking bridleway which forms a loop around Staple Fitzpaine in the beautiful Blackdown Hills AONB.
The route primarily follows a series of off road tracks through wooded areas including Staple Park Wood, Piddle Wood and Birkenhall wood. For cyclists, a mountain bike is advised as several of the off road sections are quite challenging. A good start point for the route is the car park at the ancient earthworks of Castle Neroche.

I try to ride this a couple of times a week, starting at the bottom (Orchard Portman). It’s a great ride.

Really nice route going through the Blackdowns and down to Wych lodge. It can be joined at any point, it's a great cross country ride. Be aware the part around Bickenhall woods is shut meaning the road must be used instead.

Rode this loop this afternoon with my other half and was great ???? one small diversion as it looks as though the farmer/land owner has bolted a gate and closed off a section of the bridleway through his farm. No matter as we just picked the trail up again further down the road. Definitely going back for more ????
