I question the sanity of anyone who would call this "fun". 50 miles is CrAzY!

Some insanely fast descents and highlights down Suntop, first time there. Can't keep up with Alex's pace. Would definitely shuttle instead of...

The trail is clear. Very dry conditions and the downhill side of the trail likes to wash out on you. There's very little shade due to the fire so make sure you have water!

Trail is clear of downed trees, but there’s still a lot of work to be done to the trail leading up to Little Ranger Peak from the Ranger Creek Trail junction. I rode up Ranger Creek, and it’s also clear of trees, but is still a hike-a-bike in the upper portion because of significant erosion to the trail. On the descent, I came out of the woods to one of the exposed cliffs and was staring at two mountain goats 10 feet from me! I only had one day to ride, and based on trail descriptions I was worried about fire damage and erosion, so I rode Suntop in the morning knowing that it was clear, and then rode Palisades in the afternoon. Suntop was a nice, pretty ridgeline, but in the middle has a blown-out rut of a trail. Palisades is more rugged and feels more remote, well worth it over Suntop.
