The Tahoe Rim Trail around Tahoe City has some of the best MTB riding in the area, and this loop gives you a great taste of North Tahoe riding. You will see panoramic vistas in all directions, great views of the lakes, and quite a bit of shade for warm days. The trail is 100% MTB suitable, but in the TRT style, it is not sanitized by any means. You will find flow and chunk sections, and overall most intermediate or better riders will be able to ride almost everything. The route is recommended for a counterclockwise direction, as the Glass Mountain section of the TRT rides better as a downhill.

Parking and ride start/stop can be at the Tahoe XC center as depicted, or on Fairway drive in Tahoe City.

Great ride with some fantastic vistas. Descending glass mountain is always a chunky treat. Route is optimistic on the elevation reporting...it's more like 2350 ft.

Blown away by how good this ride was. I parked at the bottom of Glass Mountain and did the road and boring parts first. Once you get that first Lake Tahoe view and hit the singletrack it is fantastic for the next couple hours. Mostly intermediate riding with some decent rocky tech near the end.

I had zero expectations coming into this ride because I've never heard anyone ever mention it. So damn good.
