Die ultimative Top-Abfahrt im Monte Tamaro Gebiet. 1500 Höhenmeter auf knackigen Singletrails vernichten und dabei noch ein Top-Panorama geniessen. Das sind Zutaten, die das Fahrerherz höher schlagen lassen.

Die Monte Tamaro Seilbahn bringt uns von Rivera hoch bis zur Alpe Foppa auf 1530 Meter über Meer. Mit unseren Endurobikes schieben wir hoch bis zur Antenne, durchtrainierte XC-Profis würden den Anstieg wohl fahrend meistern. Bei der bewirteten Hütte Capanne Tamaro geniesst man die fantastische Aussicht übers Südtessin, Italien und die Alpen.

Dem Grat entlang fahren wir nun Richtung Punkt 1842. Trotz dem Super-Panorama den Blick auf dem Trail lassen, er ist nämlich an einigen Stellen sehr knifflig (ca. S3 bis S4). Auch die weitere Abfahrt bis zum Punkt 1726 und weiter zur Alpe Canigiolo auf 1495 Meter ist anspruchsvoll, 150 mm Federweg und mehr definitiv hilfreich. Gemäss Singletrailskala würde ich das meiste auf S2 bis S3 schätzen. Weiter und etwas händeschonender gehts runter nach Pian Cusello. Von dort folgen wir nun immer dem Wanderwegweiser Richtung Sigirino.

Bis Monti di Sigirino auf 970 Meter über Meer wird der Trail recht flowig, typische Tessiner Waldtrails. Die nun letzten 550 Höhenmeter bis ins Dörfchen Sigirino werden jetzt nochmals heftig. Absätze, loser Schotter und viele knifflige Spitzkehren fordern nochmals alle Kräfte. In Sigirino angekommen sind wir uns aber einig. Das ist die definitiv längste und beste Singletrailabfahrt, die wir je gefahren haben In Sigirino angekommen folgen wir dem Veloweg zurück bis zur Talstation der Monte Tamaro Bahn in Rivera.
