A Sample of Whistler's Westside

Working class is an advanced technical trail featuring several rockfaces, difficult corners and steep pitches. This is one of our favourite Whistler trails and is very representative of Whistler's advanced trails.

By following the Valley Trail along Lorimer road, you can reach Rainbow Park. Head through Rainbow park to Alta Lake road and start the climb slightly uphill at the "Whip me, Snip me" trailhead. You'll turn South under the power-lines and head along "Hot Dog Alley" and then up "Scotia Creek Climb". At the top you'll be on Stonebridge Drive, pedal up the road and take your first left onto Stonebridge Place. Head to the top where you'll find a dirt access road. Head up this road and onto "Sirloin" climb, this will take you upto the Flank trail. At the top you'll intersect with the Flank. Take "Darwins" trail uphill and continue climbing past "Cheap Thrills" trail. You are now on the Westside Flank trail and will continue past several trail heads until you see "Working Class".

You will finish the trail with a final Rock face and a trail fork on the exit. Take the left option and you will exit onto the Lower Sproatt access road. Head downhill a few hundred meters and enter into "Three Birds". Take another left at the bottom of this trail and traverse along the "Danimal Middle" trail. Eventually this will exit right onto Stonebridge Drive. Head uphill on Stonebridge Drive past the "Danimal North" trailhead. You will pickup the "Beaver Pass" trail running on the right hand side of the road, it will climb up under the powerlines and you will have the option of riding a large Slab rockface or taking an alternative descent to the left. Continue down "Beaver Pass" trail, Crossing over "Whip Me, Snip Me", all the way down to Alta Lake Road. Take a right (downhill) to head back to Rainbow Park.
