Official Route of the Ride On Mountain Biking Challenge presented by the County of San Diego
A short tour of a selection of trails in the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park starting at the County Campground MAP LINK. Ride will climb up to Border Field State Park followed by a cruise north along the beach (conditions permitting) with a short sandy section where you must walk your bike to then continue westward on wide dirt trails that meander through the valley. Explore sections of open salt march and then dense foliage.
Most of this ride is fairly flat with only one road climb up to Border Field State Park. Ride is suitable for beginning mountain bikers. There are over 22 miles of trails to explore in the Tijuana River Valley so this route is only one short option. Lots to explore
Support restoration efforts by following the signs and staying on designated paths. The park and refuge areas are open daily from sunrise to sunset. Always allow at least 48 hours after last rain fall for trails to dry before heading out for your ride. Always practice trail courtesy - Share and Be Aware!
