High Point

One of the longer rideable segments of the TRT, this trail provides both technical challenges and fast, flowing sections, and is nearly always climbing or descending. Plan to spend the better part of a day if riding as an out & back. Ridden in full, this is a long and fun ride, but also very exhausting, so stock on food and water if attempting.

The trail begins technical climbing out of Tahoe City, gradually becoming easier as you climb on the re-routed section up to Glass Mountain. Through Painted Rock around to the Mount Watson traverse, the trail is open and flowy (a blast in the downhill direction). The trail climbs around Mount Watson into more technical and sandy trail, eventually letting out into Watson Lake. Traversing around the lake, the trail remains chunky - though now less sandy - and gradually steepens downhill as you leave the meadow. Eventually, you begin climbing again and reach a very technical uphill near Fiberboard following along a rocky ridge-line. This section is clearable in the downhill direction without too much trouble for an experienced rider, but will be nearly impossible to ride uphill without walking at some point. You soon reach a high point after crossing Fiberboard Freeway, where you begin a short but fast and open downhill segment back to Brockway summit.
