A customizable, base-idea loop that includes Tunnel 4, Deer canyon, Ocean Air/Carmel Mt and PQ canyon. Mostly easy trails, but beginners may need to walk a few steep sections and obstacles, or change the route a little.

Typically ridden counter clockwise to descend a couple steeper trails, but could also be ridden clockwise, maybe with some route changes, to use less steep climbs.

Customize the route with other trails like ride Switchbacks or Eucalyptus instead of Tunnel 4, or add Tunnel 1. Use the easy del Mar Mesa Road bypass instead of steeper Palacio Drop. Return to PQ canyon using Side Hill or Cobbles instead of Waimea. Or go further west to hit Return of the Crabs.

Some rain ruts near bottom but easy to pick a good line as you climb because why would you go down this thing? The Schlitz and Cobbles are right there for Pete’s sake.

This is a very fun trail offering a fairly easy ride. I rank this as beginner through low intermediate friendly.
