Ta en tur ut på vackra Asunden På vägen passerar du gårdsbutiker och Barläst Kalkbruksområde som har anor ända från 1600-talet. Här brändes kalk en bit in på 1900-talet.

Den karga vackra ön Asunden var militärt skyddsområde fram till slutet av 1990-talet, men nu råder inte längre något landstigningsförbud. På Asunden fanns tidigare ett kustartilleribatteri bestående av tre pjäser. Numera är delar av östsidan av ön ett naturreservat på 7,9 hektar, varav tre hektar land och 4,9 hektar vatten. Inom naturreservatet finns ett stort antal stora raukar, av vilka några hör till de största på Gotland. Det finns drygt 25 raukar som är mer än två meter höga. Den högsta är nio meter hög. Raukområdet avsattes 1930 som naturminnesmärke.

Asunden har en rik flora med bland annat strandkål och luddvedel och ett mycket rikt fågelliv på strandängarna på öns nordvästra del. Strandängarna ingår i det europeiska ekologiska nätverket Natura 2000.

Detailed Description
Vackra karga Asunden is a 11 mile popular easy route located near Region Gotland. This mountain bike only route can be used both directions and has a easy overall physical rating. This route includes 9 trails. This route climbs 276 ft with a max elevation of 85 ft then descends -275 ft.
