The Shimano Volcanic Epic, presented by Tineli, is a unique five day mountain bike stage race held across New Zealand’s spectacular North Island geothermal region. If you’re looking for a truly special mountain bike event, the Shimano Volcanic Epic is your ticket to the experience of a lifetime.

We are in a new riding area for Stage 3. This a point to point format starting at Lake Rotoiti and returning to our Stages 1 & 2 venue. This stage will include the epic backcountry Western Okatina Walkway. Riders who are not on the transport plan will need to sort their own transport to the startline or purchase a single day shuttle pass

Detailed Description
Volcanic Epic Stage 3 2025 is a 20 mile less popular intermediate race route located near Rotorua. This mountain bike primary route can be used one direction. This route includes 1 trails. This route climbs 3,031 ft with a max elevation of 2,392 ft then descends -2,419 ft.

Cleared the tree mentioned in previous report and several others between that and Miller Rd. That section all clear now, and I understand trail is passable through to Okataina. Trail off to Whakapounganakau trig is very rutted; passable with bike but not rideable.
