High Point
This route is archived

This is a highly recommended out and back epic mountain bike ride. After reaching the high point, we do not suggest riding down to Lake Okataina Rd as the climb back is brutal. You are better to simply turn around at the high point and ride back the way you came.

Thank you to Bike Culture for helping build this route.

This is in no way a manicured bike park track, but if you have good technical climbing skills you will love the route-selection challenges presented by the washouts on the steep second half of the S to N climb. There's very little that's unrideable with skill and determination. Descending this section is fast and fun. Unfortunately without drainage work, this track will continue to deteriorate. If continuing past the junction to the high point (trig) leave your bike in the bush and walk the last few hundred metres.
