This route is best started at the Bear Hollow Trailhead, which offers immediately access to the Loop. Please note that there is a very short connector between Back 40 Loop and SBAT trails that you must make via paved road, Grosvenor, in order to avoid a muddy connector.
This is the most durable section of the Back 40 Trail System for days when everything else is too soft to ride.

The link to the beer hollow trailhead takes you to a spot with a trail crosses the road. This is nowhere near the wet loop. We put on the trail at that spot, pedaled is 16 Mile loop. Compared the maps, we practically rode everything except the wet loop.
