Ride the Whiskey Off-Road. Choose from three different distance options of 15, 30 or 50 miles; each consisting of a carefully curated set of trails in Prescott, AZ.

Starting on Prescott’s historical (and lively) Whiskey Row and climbing into the beautifully distracting views of Prescott National Forest, riders will connect some of the area’s most exhilarating (and challenging) pieces of singletrack, double track, gravel roads and the occasional paved segment. In 2019 the course (30 & 50 Proof) features the exceptional culmination of hard-work, community spirit and grass-roots fund raising that is the fast, flowy and fun Spence Basin Trail System.

*The 50 Proof (Amateur Ride Only) includes a Trail 48 option and Moby hill option:

The Trail 48 option is a classic rocky singletrack climb with multiple water bars that have to be negotiated both uphill and downhill. It’s a shorter, steeper, more technical route.

The Moby uphill option is a steep climb as well but the first half follows an old two track mining road so it’s less technical at the start. It eventually ends up on a tight singletrack that rolls it’s way back toward the top of Trail 48.

Checking Strava times show that both routes have almost exactly the same KOM times.
If you’re a powerful climber who’s not afraid of technical uphill and downhill then Trail 48 is your best choice. If you’re strong but not as technically savvy then Moby may be a better option.

During your three-day visit to Prescott, enjoy being submerged in the mountain bike industry. Mingle with the most bike-minded people you’ll ever encounter while appreciating the area’s wild wild west heritage and feeling welcomed by its modern day appreciation for the outdoor enthusiast.

With a finisher’s award in the form of a well-earned commemorative pint glass emblazoned with the distance you’ve finished, the community concert w/ free live music, a cold beverage (gratis) from Four Peaks Brewing Co. and the comfort of the former Arizona Territorial capitol’s shaded lawn waiting at the finish line for all Off-Road participants…this is a finish line that will make every mile worth the effort.

The ‘Whiskey’ has a 96% finish rate. However, it’s no walk in the park.

**Please enjoy safely pre-riding the surrounding Thumb Butte Recreation Park trails with caution for other trail users and look out for blind corners
