Note that knowledge of the area and trails is handy to have as this route uses many unmarked and rarely maintained trails.

This route is the mountain and downhill section (Stage 3) of the Port to Port MTB Race. Using a combination of all weather gravel roads, fire trails and and single track, this route crosses from the top carpark on Mount Faulk Road thru Watagan National Park and Olney State Forest down into Martinsville Valley and finishing in Cooranbong.

An intermediate decent off the mountain with rocky, technical, fast and mostly downhill singletrack. The singletrack section starts just after the Abbotts falls walking track.

As a point to point route, drop car at top of ride at the Mt Faulk Rd carpark for the start of Monkey. Drop another car at in Cooranbong.

Best time to ride would be in the week immediately after the Port to Port MTB Race as the route and trails used should be easily seen and potentially still marked.
