Trail pass or membership in Get Outdoors Parry Sound required to ride
XTERRA Parry Sound race loop - SPRINT course - updated 2017. Very much like the FULL course, except that it skips Rattlesnake and a tricky part of Eagle. Otherwise, completely identical.
The goal was to create a balanced mix of singletrack and doubletrack for racing, and to give the sprint triathlon racers a bit more of a head start over the full triathlon racers, thereby avoiding traffic congestion issues.
Despite bypassing those two early sections and cutting approximately 1000m from the race loop, this is still a very challenging course. Pre-riding is strongly recommended. Faster riders will complete the course in approximately 35 minutes, but novices and those new to the classic Canadian Shield terrain (and bare granite riding) will likely require significantly more time to complete the course.
The hardest sections on this loop will be the first and last Eagle sections, as well as the singletrack around Wolf.
