The I Street Jumps have long been a part of the mountain bike community, even on global scale. Despite, or maybe because of, the fact that they were less-than-legal and faced a constant threat of demolition for years, they would show up as a secret riding spot in many early freeride videos and edits. In 2013, though, the trails were finally turned into an official city park after years of lobbying by local riders and, especially, the Wasatch Area Freeride Trails Association.

Now the deep gullies, ravines, and the steep hillside provide the perfect terrain for building a wide variety of jumps and trails. There are smaller jumps for beginners, but I Street tends to show a bias toward more advanced riders. There are large, steep-lipped doubles, big step-ups, bermed s-turns, and even some wood features. The park sits right at the top of the avenues on the north end of Salt Lake City, making it an easy visit from downtown. Likewise, the low elevation and southern exposure keep it open from early through late season.
