BIG HARVESTING NEWS!!!!
Well the time is coming and the contractors have started their process of leaving the forest for the time being (they will be back to finish a few small bits in late summer/Autumn).
The forest is still a live harvesting site, but I have it on good authority the official word is imminent that riding can happen in the area again, but we need to wait for the harvesting machinery to leave the FC to make the site safe.
Due to the relationship the TRC has with the FC, and the fact they are so grateful for everyone keeping to the restrictions we have been given special permission to begin the official dig days to help get stuff ready for bikes to be granted permission to access.
This mean's there will be a Dig Day this Sunday to get the work underway. The first trail the FC have made safe to access is the trail formerly known as "Old Grumpy". This starts from the top of Slades (three Kings), and runs right the way down to the main fireroad. I have walked this with the FC today and some bits of the old trail are there but on the whole its totally gone, perfect time for a facelift.
If you want to come on the dig day please say "going" in the event at the top of the group page.
Come along, give back to the trails you love to ride.
