2006 Trail is the primary access to the summit of Mount Ascension and the top of the Entertainment Trail. The trail was built in 2006, and the name was chosen as an echo of 1906 Trail on Mount Helena. Seven switchbacks take you to the saddle, and from there an old two-track goes to the top of the climb. The climb is variable, with several steep pitches between switchbacks, and several moderate ones. Alternate access to 2006 is from the top of Arrowroot Drive.

The southern portion of the trail connects to Arrowroot Drive. This stretch is lower gradient, and includes a couple of rock outcrops.

Trivia: Mount Ascension is actually the lower summit to the north of the saddle. The higher summit at the top of the climb is unnamed.
