Large tree down across trail, blocking trail. Need to walk around. This is close to the "top" relatively close to Go East

Nice walk. Don’t bother unless you have trail app of some kind so many off shoots you’ll never find it on own.

We've requested official signage from BC Parks on several occasions. Their position is that this is a "protected area", not a park per se - and they "don't want it turning int another Three Blind Mice riding area". As such, they are not inclined to promote the area. We have however, erected small round metal signage for the 5-Lakes Loop and Go East Old Man... So far, they've not been removed, and it's been a few years.

When you get to the small pond up top, on your right as you ascend 'Go East Old Man' ~ don't continue south beyond the pond, toward the 'usual route' / Dogtown trail, and on to the lookoff over Covert Farms.

Instead, at the pond, an old, narrow two-track heads up / east, on your left as you face south.

Follow this two-track for about 100ft'., where you'll notice an old singletrack heading south on your right. Follow this vague-in-places singletrack and it'll get you directly to the lookoff, and avoid those annoying / impossible-to-ride rock-crevasse ascents / descents that one normally has to descent / climb in order to get to the Covert Lookoff.

PM me this evening if this description doesn't make sense, and I can send you a map. I'm not around in the AM tomorrow, as I'll be volleying at the BCMB race at Apex.

       Hi Andrew
Thanks for the help with route finding
Made it up to the viewpoint this morning - good climb and certainly challenging in places I’m not totally sure it’s the same spot you describe but it is spot on Trailforks
I returned the Same way - wow what downhill that is finished on Beer Time, which it is
Anyways heading to Kelowna tomorrow thinking of checking out Smith Creek and Rose Valley before heading home to Vancouver Island
