Take this trail from South to North, opposite as indicated. Much better descent trail than a climber.

Agree with prior poster that it’s fun to hit this trail from south to north, as a nice descent through varied terrain and geology. Love hitting 701 loop counterclockwise and then working my way back to McCullough Trail via the 607.

I often climb this trail. It is an enjoyable climb for me. I climb it because it takes me the direction I prefer on the 701. It’s not a difficult climb, the views are great and the trail is in good shape.

At the end theres a big gravel mound that looks like a parking area and a gravel road that heads NNW. If you follow that downhill you hit a pea gravel wash thats not impossible to ride through but not enjoyable either and you can re x onnect with "Nitro wash up" however I felt like I wasted my climbing effort by taking this route.
