Cómodo sendero que conecta la zona suroeste del Parque Nacional del Teide desde el Mirador de Sámara, donde está el sendero 13 Samara con la parte baja del sendero 9 Teide – Pico Viejo – Mirador de las narices del Teide, hasta dicho Mirador.

Se trata de un tramo de uno de los antiguos caminos que subían a la cumbre de la Isla y que atraviesa un paisaje cubierto principalmente de materiales volcánicos recientes, procedentes de los conos volcánicos que se encuentran junto al mismo.

Gran parte del sendero discurre por terrenos cubiertos de picón y es atravesado también por lavas de escorias en las que se aprecia el desgaste de estas, por el intenso uso que tuvo el camino, cuando era utilizado por los pastores y los comerciantes.

A lo largo del camino las amplias vistas de la comarca sur y las islas cercanas, aumentan el valor paisajístico del itinerario, junto con la visión del Teide y Pico Viejo con un aspecto bastante diferente al que se observa desde otras zonas del parque nacional.
