This is the main route up the York Creek valley from Coleman to reach the singletrack trails including School of Rock, York with a Fork, and Rumhead.
Note: JP43 to JP48 refer to designated junction points on Castle Special Management Area map and small orange signs on the OHV trails. This map is available at http://esrd.alberta.ca/recreation-public-use/recreation-on-public-land/public-land-use-zones/castle-area-pluz.aspx and at their office in Blairmore,

Start - 81 St & 15 Ave. by the CP Rail crossing in Coleman. Head west beside the river on the Community Trail
0.9 km - cross old bridge and go left after bridge
1.6 km - join the main York Creek Road
2.7 km - JP48 York Creek Staging area, access to trails including Pineapple Express and School of Rock
4.9 km - access to School of Rock via Back Door
5.2 km - JP46, bridge over York Creek. Leave the main York Creek Road and keep right for Ironstone Lookout and Rumhead. Go left for York with a Fork on the York Creek Mine Road
6.2 km - JP 44, keep left for Ironstone. Right heads to the Plane Crash
6.8 km - rejoin the main York Creek Road
7.4 km - JP43 go straight (right is an alternate route to the Plane Crash)
8.2 km - Take the left fork onto the Ironstone Fire Lookout road. Go around the locked gate (bicycles allowed) and climb the steep road
11.5 km - left at the saddle (right heads to the Ironstone Fire Lookout)
12.2 km - end of 800 m vertical climb at the top of Rumhead trail.
